Dr. Seuss Day

We had a Dr. Seuss lunch/party with Ivy, Hayley, Trent, Emma, Alicia, Nana and Nathan. We started the party off by Ivy reading "The Lorax" to the boys. The boys didn't sit for the entire reading but that didn't distract Ivy. She just kept on reading. After "story time" Nana helped the kids make a cute hat out of an oatmeal container. Then, they kids guessed how many goldfish were in the jar. We then made green eggs and ham. The kids wouldn't eat the green eggs and ham so we made BLT sandwiches. Alicia then made the sweetest cup cakes with the kids. They were chocolate with a special Dr. Seuss hat on top. The hat was made out of white icing, a oreo and gummies too.

Ivy and Hayley had fun taking naps, drinking milk and posing for pictures. A friend of ours gave us "Thing 1 and Thing 2" outfits and they were so cute!

The day ended with us taking Trent and Ivy to see the new movie "The Lorax." It was so LOUD but I enjoyed family time and popcorn!

I have to admit that Dr. Seuss is not one of my favorite authors BUT I am so thankful for a reason to have a party and get together with my niece and nephew.
