Squanto

We read books about Squanto, made head dresses, and another craft with Oreos! We mashed up the Oreos to make it look like dirt. Then, we buried a fish to fertilize the dirt. We buried a pop corn kernel. Squanto taught the Pilgrims a lot about farming. We learned a lot too. We also ate a lot of dirt!

Be still Hayley and I'll give you a kiss!
Digging in the dirt

Let's see if we can drink this dirt!

A little school in NC

Yes, we are in North Carolina. We came for two months to help on the Christmas Tree farm. We also came to visit with our family and friends. We are living in our house with the Hawkins! It has been fun to be with them. (I'll share more on them in another post) We are still doing school. Here are a few pictures of Hayley working on patterns with fruit loops!

Reading books together.

We are really thankful that Trent is also doing homeschool this year. We have been able to do a lot of projects together. We learned about William Bradford and The First Thanksgiving.

We made a turkey out of a paper bag and stuffed it with popcorn. We took our turkey to CC and did a presentation on Thanksgiving. We shared the popcorn with our friends.

Field Trip with Papaw

We are studying the different mountain ranges in the United States. Papaw took the day off and we headed to Mt. Mitchell. Unfortunately, it was closed because of snow but we still had a fun day. We watched a movie about the Blue Ridge Mountains and toured the visitors center.

We also toured Gov. Vance's Homestead. He was the Governor of NC during the Civil War.

Thanks Papaw! We had a fun time!

A few random shots!

Hayley is painting a frog for the letter F

Always dressed up!

F is also for Family!
We have funny Hayley moments everyday! I need to get better at writing them down so I won't forget. After church this morning, we got in the car. Hayley said, "Oh no! Mommy, I ruined my "sock pants!" That was her way of saying "I tore my tights!" It was so funny! She LOVES going to church. She begs to go to church and does a better job of remembering what she learned at church the rest of us! She tells us about her story on the way home from church. I'm so thankful for the things she is learning!Hayley loves to be around people and asks me many times a day, "Mom, where are we going today? Who's coming to our house? I need to see friends."

Here are a few pictures from CC!!
