Four years ago today, (December 19th) Brent and I took Hayley to the court house and
signed papers to finalize her adoption. So, today is what we call
"Hayley's Adoption Day!" We celebrated God's Faithfulness last night
with dinner with our family. Hayley asked for a "Winter Cake" so that's
what I made. It was a white cake with snowflakes!
What a gift
from God she is to our family! She is so affectionate, energetic and ALL
GIRL! She loves dresses and even likes to wear them to the gym or to
the park. I have always enjoyed being her mom but the past few months
with Hayley have been my favorite. Hayley loves to talk, loves to bake
with me, loves to snuggle, and gives the best Hugs I have EVER had! One of my friend's calls her, "Spicy!" Another
calls her, "Sassy!" She is a MESS! A FUN, LOVING MESS!!
Pray for us to point her to Jesus!
She
is starting to ask questions about God and it is good for my heart to
stop and think about how to answer her questions. Some of her questions
are, "Mom, is God real or pretend?" "Does Satan like lies?" "Does God
want me to tell the truth?" "Am I a part of God's family like Ivy is?"
This
morning was very special for us. We got to take Hayley to see her
"full" biological brother. I am so thankful that God answered our
prayers and allowed us to see him. I'm thankful that God has given him a
loving, adoptive family. He is so sweet and looks a lot like Hayley.
Talking
with Xander's adoptive mom and watching Hayley and her brother play
today, was so good for me. God is faithful! He keeps His promises. He is
Sovereign. God knew that we needed Hayley. God knew that Xander needed
to be with his adoptive family as well. It is so good for our souls to look back and see how God has
blessed us!
